Hi guys,
Is this frog authentic? It looks good to me but I know there a lot of convincing copies around. Any insights would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
John

I remember hearing many times the only legitimate white frogs were those reverse marked by A. Fischer Berlin.
Can’t say if that is a hard and fast rule however. I would agree with you that this one looks good.

Thanks Bill,
Yes I've heard that too about white frogs (I think Wittmann has also mentioned that a few times). My concern is that this is an authentic K98 frog that has been painted white at some later point (i.e. its not factory).
Regards John

Hi John,
Yes, that's a conundrum I believe you won't be able to resolve to your satisfaction. The paint is nicely crazed so it doesn't look "new" and the construction looks like a period item. It would be fine in your nice Polizei collection, albeit with a lower price to reflect the doubt.
