Real ones are rare but I think they exist. I have seen attempts at these that are unconvincing.

All the experts are on the road to Louisville right now.

Purchased the Service Daggers of the SA and NSKK this variant inscription shown on page 288 said to be a Mid period with Zinc fittings.

Listed under presentation daggers this mid period with no Maker Mark /RZM.

The first line, " Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, über alles in der Welt " (usually translated into English as "Germany, Germany above all, above all in the world"), was an appeal to the various German monarchs to give the creation of a united Germany a higher priority than the independence of their small states.
Adopted: 1922–1945 as National Anthem.

What I’m seeing is a very high center ridge and an über dark motto. The dagger looks period but the blade, I’d be skeptical of this one.

As I recall, the consensus was it's an original dagger with a replaced, post war blade.

Unusual piece...
Might expect this on a blade, made by the main Solingen producers, but by a rarer maker like Gebr. Becker?

Best regards,

Herman

Does anyone have a theory they would like to share this motto?

Could you make motto close and sharp pictures? I have some idea, but I need more info.

Buy Casberg sketches.

The dagger was offered to me and I passed (too controversial for 8k) so those are the only pics I have.
With that said I was not able to check blade thickness or for laser etching. There are several floating around and one is shown on the reference portion of this site.

You made the right decision IMO

The blade on that Gebr. Becker dagger had rusted (look below the trademark and to the upper left) and has been very well cleaned. No cross grain remains. That plus limited pics and no ability to inspect are too many negatives.

Can you tell us who was selling it ?
