When posting an excellent Heer dagger I acquired from a thrift shop recently, it was suggested I loose the worn portapee and hangers. Thanks to this weekend's huge York, Pennsylvania militaria show, I've dressed the old dear in fresh finery.

Hello Dave Fox, unfortunately the pic you show us is very small and cannot be enlarged. It would be nice to show us larger and perhaps more detailed pics from the beauty. Does the dagger bear a trademark? I would highly recommend to keep the original portepee (and hanger?) as these are suposed to be original to the dagger. Generally the original accouterment tells us the story of an item too. Regards,
