Very nice porcelain you show, I do like those Rosenthal stags, I have a couple of them in the white and monochrome, I'm yet to find one similar to your colouring that shows no damage, there tough to find in mint condition, much cheaper than Allach but just as nice.

Very nic Baz
So much shown has made this topic a winner!
Here is something I showed before and Bill Warda made the folling comment!
I had bought from Andy! Military Nut!
The German Buffalo Bill it looks like!
PVON
Paul,
Our dear old friend Andy has been having a definite "hot-streak" as of late, he's really turning up the goods. In all sincerity it couldn't happen to a finer gentleman, steady as the Rock of Gibralter.
That has to be one of the finest shooting-related photos I've ever seen, it's very unusual to see an example in full color. There are some fantastic decorations displayed on the man's jacket, an unimaginable array for us shooting enthusiasts.
All topped off with a first class beer stein that belonged to him, too. That's defintely the icing on the cake! Great early depiction of the shooter's logo, it looks like a well-executed painting under the glaze. Congratulations on adding these very nice Schtzen pieces to your collection and thanks for sharing them here on the forum.
Best!

Andy was at it a very long time. The amount of piece he's turned up is staggering. Many were just sold at the SOS and the remainder of his pieces including items from his personal collection will be offered at the MAX at a 'all must go' sale,,,so make a decent offer and you'll get it!
Gary,,, what is that bear made of? wood? bone? or ?

Gaspere,
The bear is made of wood, these things were made in the Black Forest region of Germany, typically in Bavaria, most are made from pine and are very light, this one is probably from the 1920's give or take 10 years either way, they are made to this day as tourist pieces, I have a few other Black forest carvings of wild boars which are quite common, I stick to the smaller pieces, some can be up to 6' tall. I also like the Bronze stags as well. The Bronzes are mostly by either by Karner or Fritz Diller.

Stunning Stuff gents, just eyecandy! i wanted to add my latest addition, a hunting set made of banddamst by Gebrüder Kellner Wien. (Vienna) The Geb.Kellner took the Geb. Maurer business over in 1880, and i guess this set will be made in the 1890-1910 period. Nice to see that the Vienna maker used Toledo banddamast for this hunting dagger, as we all know that Sheffield, Solingen and Toledo all produced their own banddamast, most have been a good priced piece of damast the grips is made of ivory instead of stag (looking at the horizontal grain of the skinners gripplates, similar to the senior Forestry grips and the background is died- painted black for contrast. The leather work is also a true piece of art, it has a wooden frame and the top of the skinnersknife bay is covered with red vilt to protect the grippplates. The banddamast pattern is in mimt comdition and realy makes it an eyecatcher. the carvings on the grips well what can i say? a piece of art? Enjoy this beauty! Regards Ger
