I don’t know how I’ve managed to stay away from swords. Started with daggers and branched out to dress bayonets but if I go down the sword rabbit hole, it won’t be good!
Great Diplo sword, that’s something you don’t see everyday.

Hanger?
Either way just a nice group!
Do you check the blade and treat it?

Sword was purchased with the hanger. I was not added. The shoulder boards were purchased separately and I have been looking for a matched pair of signals collar tabs! Not sure what you mean by " checking the blade though. It does have the luftampt. Since it is a plated blade the only thing I do is occassionaly wipe with SS2.

I have always appreciated swords. Advertising related items are of an interest too. This one being poster board type material.

Hello,
In order to participate to the thread, here is my SS officer degen ... Complete with the felt bag. Was found in a flat in Paris back in August 1944 when the city was liberated. I suppose the officer didn't have much time to gather his stuff before taking off.
That is an early nickel silver version with no markings. This piece can be dated around 1937-38 i suppose . Possibly a graduated former student of a SS-junkerschule ... In good condition !! Nickel silver is by far my fav material .... lovely greenish reflections in the metal color ... can't mistake it when you see it !
Hope you like it
Regards
K

Thanks Herman
Will be showing more of Georges stuff!
Hope some more get shown!
Question
With so many organizations having swords
Luft,Army,Police,SS Prison,Diplomat,Navy and the list is longer I bet!
Why no SA swords! Rad and who else?
And why were some army that say George is showing so beautiful!
The design of many are just stunning!
I had the sword book many yrs ago! Maybe answers are in book!
And for you real die hards! Is there any meaning in Lion heads, panther, etc!
Etched ones,who made the nicest?
Just food for thought on discussion!

Here are a few German Imperial Artillery swords.
Dating from a time when damast steel and/or triple etched blades were not extremely rare and gilding was qualitative and durable!
Best regards,
