You are right, it has all the "symptoms" of a Cavalry imperial german saber : )
Oak leaves with holes one the D guard, that is very unusual, a keeper indeed ! Great catch !

Hello,

I observed that oak leaves are found quite often on the D-guard of Imperial swords.
With holes, they are more rare indeed...
