Hello collectors!
I have not had many SS daggers that the number was traceable!
Not sure why! But thats how it was!
I am sure many of you have had better luck!
Lets see your finds!
Now this SS dagger came from lady and never got the ring she said family had!
This has been some yrs now but I like to share my modest find back in time!
It was a Pack!
Yes the green was cleaned off!
I was lucky that Ross SS dagger researcher found info!
These are the stories that we all have had and keeps hope alive for us collectors!
I know many of you have plenty to share so please show us!
All my yrs and not 1 chained SS ever showed up!
JR would have 2 show rooms full!

Got my first peice of info back from Ross on research for this guy!
Hi Paul:
I got down to the Archives and looked into Friedrich Leber. First, he is listed in the 1936, 1937, and 1938 SS-Dienstalterlistes. I found his NSDAP membership file cards which he actually had two on file. He also has a SS Officer file. It is 77 pages and contains 4 of his service personnel (stammrollen) cards. Two are his earlier enlisted period up to 1936 and two from his SS Officer period through 1944. I have attached one of his SS Officer personnel cards. Unfortunately, there were no photos of him to be found. Most of the papers in his SS Officer file are damaged by fire towards the bottom. Fortunately, however, the information on most of these escaped any damage. If interested, I can work up a cost for acquisition of these records.
Best of continued luck with collecting & have a very Happy New Year!
Regards,
Ross Kelbaugh

That’s a great dagger Paul, the blade is in terrific condition. Did you request the full file on the original owner?

That green crud (verdigris) on the rear crossguard will etch the guard if not removed.

I agree with Dave, verdigris is something loved by collectors but is corrosive in the long term.
