Hello I received this ring from a friend and looks old and interesting. It have a crown and down marked ROMANIA and up the crown is the german eagle with swastika and also is marked 1/4 1940. Inside it have no marks because I think it was very used. I need help from you to know what ring it is. Thank you in advance.

A couple of the members have this ring.. There are other topics here that maybe a search would find.... None of us could figure what the 1/4 means or really what 1940 is for. Occupation date?
The detail , way it was finished etc. all lead us to believe it is a authentic WW2 ring.. Hold on to that one..........

Hello thank you very much for intervention I think is a Romanian ring from 1940 and the date 14 and 1940 is about 14 September 1940 when in Romania begin the Romanian national legionary state and the head of state was general Ion Antonescu I don't know who wear this kind of ring

Well, it is a Luftwaffe eagle [airforce] at the top.. Sure there must have been an airbase somewhere in Romania.. Maybe more Luftwaffe men there than other branches of service.[?]

Its not really 14... It is 1/4... One fourth? One quarter? and 1/4 for what?. That is what has always puzzled collectors..
OR,If read as a date it would be 1st day, 4 the month [April],, 1940 year...... Anything important happen on 1/4/40?

May be 1/4 is not related to the date 1940, but to a Luftwaffe section.....for example!!.... something like 1e Division/ 4e Gruppe... ??
I'm not familiar with the luftwaffe sections not at all.
