Who collects many of the same thing? SA daggers? Different makers! SS daggers? Different makers! Army daggers! Luft daggers! Red Cross!

SS visors! The late John Pepera had many SS vissors~! Gold party badges! Over 30

I remember King Tiger {Mark) Had so many SA daggers!

Pic of Ed Sunday and his Red Cross! Dave and his footlocker of SS daggers!

Military Nut and Honor Rings! Heck! Any rings!

What makes a collector keep on adding! Some collectors get 1 of each type! Others fill a room!

Ed Sunday had 20 mint luft swords! Bob Clarke had many Japanese swords!

What makes a collector do it? Now of course many collectors fill rooms with other things!

Thats another story!

What makes you tick?

It could be toys, cars, record albums! I just got many things from older collector that had 10 thousand vinyl records!

And he had 300 old Tom Mix the cowboy from way back! I mean way back!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw them!

Hello Ryan

For me, it has been about 20 years when I started collecting IAB's. And yes, I do collect makers, variants, base materials, etc. as well as box & packet sets, photos and docs.

Here are a few of my personal favorites...these very early Meybauer attributed IAB's with the cut-out swazy's.

Ok Where to start!

Dave
Yes thats what I remember also! Mark got into SA daggers heavy! I had bought a few also when Houston first got them!

Minty and so many makers!

Can you imagine having to put that many SA's in a table to hold them!

Good god! I wish I had that problem!

Fischer

First, let me welcome you to collectors corner!

Winner ,Winner, chicken dinner

Thats a amazing amount of Infantry badges! I think I just spit my coffee out after seeing!

Your pics of single ones are outstanding! Shows the badge in their glory! Detail,Detail! Thats how to show collectors your passion!

Collectors learn by seeing! Asking questions, absorbing the moment to compare!

Youn must share! Start a thread on your Infantry badges! They do deserve to be a learning option for collectors!

Would be very happy if you started a Infantry Badge 101 learning topic! Explain why you chose Infantry badges! What you look for!

Makers, bronze ,silver, hollow, pin type! Packets, box's, how they might have been given and why some in packets,or box's!

Time period! All the details you are willing to share!

I do love the boxed examples! I hope collectors get inspired by your 20 yr passion!

The 1 single pic you show of a badge front and back makes the difference in learning about these badges!

Is there different types of silver finish? Bronze! The holy grail is?

I know Ryan and me thank you for sharing! It would be our pleasure to ask to add a topic on them in our new Collectors Corner!

Hearing you talk about cap pistols, holsters and other things brings back my childhood!

I have always enjoyed the cap pistols of my youth!

Wyatt Earp,Roy Rogers,Bat Masterson.Gene Autry,Hoppy! Have Gun will Travel and so many!

Have had boxed Wyatt Earp shirts, Rifflemans toy rifle as a kid!

Just saw a 69 yr old that showed me his 1955 Coon skin cap and jacket when he was 5! Amazing time!

Lunch boxs of Rin Tin Tin,Roy,and all the period items!

Collectors would be shocked by prices of cap pistols! Holsters! Don't know about now! But they were hot some yrs ago!

Many yrs ago! A big time collector at Flip Side mall in Pa. Had a wonderful collection of original Wild West stuff! Buffalo Bill,Annie Oakley, etc
and I got to hold so many real items! He bought 3 Wild West posters from me I had found!

He was a monster collector!

And he even did the cap guns and holsters! Imagine that! He had the real wild west guns but still gathered the toys!

Any pics Ryan!

Thanks everyone!

Here are some interesting variants due to the base materials.

First is a couple of "cupal" examples. They are still unknown in regards to the maker and have what is referred to as the Vienna Design obverse.

Next are the two variants referred to as the Steel examples being fully magnetic.

The first one is a Deschler and the second one is attributed to the ShuCo maker.

The Deschler is extremely rare.

And here is an Otto Schickle / BH Meyer example made from tombak or buntmetal.

Whats nice about all of these examples I have posted, these IAB's will stand the test of time much better than there zinc cousins.

Hope you like them.

Beautys for sure!

And yes the Zinc ones get no love!

You have captured the badges very well!

Collectors can learn very quickly from these pics what to look for!

How many makers do you have?

How many still in box!

Thanks for sharing!

Most things I only have one or two of except for 84/98 bayonets (and maybe heer swords). Need to take new pictures as it's grown a little bit since these. All are different makers and/or years of manufacture as well as a few commercial, police and a navy.

Maker and year for the most part. Only one or two duplicates so far but also look for other variations, police, navy etc. Always considering condition but it doesn't have to be mint but no dogs and no sharpening. Would like to get one or two of those you show with the tropical frogs!!!
