This is me! ,, in Daytona Beach FL.,,around 1976, 77,,,and that is my chopper, a 1969 T-120R Triumph Bonneville..

- A rat bike but the motor was heavily modified.
Nickle plated hardtail frame, spool front wheel [no brake] and parts from the 'spares' pile! Fast, light, able to get in and out of trouble very fast at the time... This photo appeared in 'Iron Horse' magazine in the 'In the Wind' section..

Now this is the same exact motor from the chopper pictured above!

It went from a chopper to a short track bike ... After a unsuccessful career I then made it street legal and just sold it in 2019. Had it all those years,,40 years!,,one of those things you wish you didn't let go!

In-between all that I did a little motorcrossing.. Had a partial sponsor from the Bultaco factory. I had to pay for the bike,,they supplied me with the jersey, boots, parts at cost, gas and pre-mix oil and entry fees...
Great bikes.. A little expensive but that were ready to go right from the crate! Tires, bars, hardware, chain, aircleaner, suspension, all race ready..

This is one of the last ones imported in to the country.. A 1979 MK12 Bultaco Pursang 370... I rode in the semi pro open class.. A dangerous sport and injuries ruled the day!

An old photo of myself taking a break on the bike at a practice area,,a rare factory jersey, and, the bike just before I sold it...

Beautiful workmanship, all high quality parts, fast as the wind!

always had a 1970 H-D FLH 1200cc.. Fine travelling bike. Motor worked, added good suspension. Trying to find a photo of it...

BUT, this is tied for my favorite bike [with my Triumph].

A early 50s H-D flat head, 45 ci [750].. Shifting 3 speed on the gas tank,,foot clutch. Stripped down, heavy modified motor, Sportster front end tricked out..

I vintage raced it at the Daytona short track a few times.. But then made it street legal for the mean NY streets!

Had a friend who was campaigning a 650 Yamaha short track bike... He didn't do well and kept getting hurt. Sold it to me and I made it street legal. Had it a couple years.

Nice bike,,fairly fast, had some good parts on it. But not for me and I sold it to a local young man who wanted to race and was going to turn it back to a racer:

There were many more bikes but who had a camera back then!

and,,, after all the tricked out bikes, worked motors fast as lightning,,,,this is my current ride.

Dave,, I've collected a bunch of parts but haven't put them on yet... The bike is worth more as is,,,A unrestored, running Triumph TRW 500 flat head.. Found the rear ammo racks, hi performance parts, improved brake shoes, and will get them on this coming winter.

They were British Army prototypes but the factory got bombed during the blitzkreig. They never got made and H-D got the contract with their WLA 750 flat head for the Allied Armies...
The Tooling survived and after the war some were made for the Netherlands, UK and a few for the US market [as long as you picked Army Green color]..
A slow machine but torquey motor and able to run all day even in summer without problems. They take minimum maintenance, run on regular gas, light weight, and handle well.

Photos - Gas tank with carrier rack [perfect for a 6 pack!] , Primary side of bike,,and the unobtainium rear ammo rack,,,,which I finally found in the UK. Shipping almost as much as part,,,but rare as hens teeth to find!!!!!!

What a fun time it must have been! A real Easy rider!

I never had a motor cycle! Talked about a Sporster way back and never did!

You had lots of bikes and many names I heard of!

Toys are cool!
