Frankly, I think Mr. Robert Kondor is the guy you should contact. He is extremely knowledgeable on this topic! One year at the MAX he was explaining to a group of us the characteristics of a genuine dagger. He also had the benefit of visiting the Ungar & Horvath factory in Budapest... the company that is in possession of the original dies and has been producing thousands of reproductions of these daggers for many decades. He saw first-hand what the repros look like, and also saw the process by which the blades were acid-etched.
