Hi all...i have a nickel plated SS degen with monogram on the pommel (HB)...i suppose it's quite impossible to find the owner isnt'it?

I would think that there were more than one SS officer with the initials HB who was awarded the SS sword. Even if there were only one, you could never prove it belonged to them. Nice degen though!

Nice sword.
There may be a few HB listed on the SS list, but even if there were 10 or 12, still worth having with that sword, IMHO.

Yes, but not each leader listed eg. at 1936,1937 did become the degen immediately! In the DALs there are vast sections of leaders without degen. Btw in the ?34 list there are naturally no awarded degens listed, nevertheless to narrow it down in afirst step this list can also be helpful a this list does not contain so much men like later lists..

When knowing the time it is even more logical that H has been the letter for the given name and B the letter for the family name.
