Photos credit Military FundForum: I know this is silly,, but just had to show it.. A delivery box for the honor ring!! Looks like 6 at a time,,or maybe 12 ,,, So a top view, a side, and inside,,,,bottom just white paper,,no markings... What some will do to deceive us collectors... There are some that like it! Doesn't make sense to me one bit. IF, if there was a special delivery guy for the HR we would have known about it. And why so many at a time. These guys were all over the place. And, sure Gahr would have had his firms name somewhere on box or whoever made it!

Mikee who did make them? and was it the same maker for the different types? anyway,,its a crazy thing. Claimed to be found in a German Flea market for $25.! no dimensions, or any markings.. Guess it would be a cool thing to store some of the ring collection in!

Hey G, Sorry I can not divulge what I know about honor boxes. I can't say if this one is original or not. But the construction and paper look damn good to me I'm not 100% on the top part w/ lettering. But again I default to wotan on this one. Curious what the 1/2 and something 3 is.
I would love to hear from wotan on this one.

Hello gents, for me already this "1/2 Oz" is a typical non german weight scale unit which gives us a fine hint from where the box could origine... Furthermore, if you ever have gotten a Gahr delivered but truely unworn HR, with all it s accouterment like special wrapping paper, paper evelope with certain personal datas and the HRbox you will know in a second that this box is just a laughable thing. Regards,
wotan, gd.c-b#105

Wasnt the SS Honor Ring officially called the Totenkopfring der SS? I came to this conclusion because the original award documents for the rings called them the Totenkopfring der SS and only mentioned honor at the end when it said "Tragen Sie den Ring in Ehren!" (wear the ring with honor!). In addition, inside SSO files, the ring is also labeled as the Totenkopfring der SS. If I am correct about this, surely the box would be a fake as it displays the incorrect name for the ring. I suppose I could be wrong however. Can someone weigh in?

You are correct sarcasmos. This box is as fake as the Adolph Hitler of Kentucky - Furrier #1 Kentucky Fuhrer story

Sarcasmos , Welcome to the forum..
Yes you are completely correct about the name!. Years ago when most couldn't even properly identify the ring I think it was Don Boyle who in the tradition of American slang called it a 'Honor Ring'.. It's gotten even shorter sometimes and simply referred to as HR.

Hi Gaspare,
Thank you for the warm welcome! I do appreciate it. I will go ahead and try to post my Tk ring later today. I am looking forward to learning with an open mind.
Best regards, Sarcasmos
