Good afternoon, colleagues. I would like to know your opinion on this dagger. Its condition is not very good, and as I think, apart from the blade and scabbard, the rest - the handle and guards were added later.

But I'm interested in the opinion on the blade. I know that not everyone believes in this manufacturer, more belive the SS daggers where, in addition to the RZM code have contract number. I like the blade, but I am ready to hear all your opinions.

Hello ,

Untill now Christianswerke (M7/1) is not reported as a SS maker however the marking seems to be a late period one , then cannot tell you more infos on this dagger : authentic or not ?. = S+

Although rare, SS daggers were produced by Gebr. Christians (M7/1). That particular form of the RZM mark has not been observed on original SS daggers but was used on reproduction SS and SA daggers produced in the 1970s..

This is the known good RZM mark for Christianswerk. The same mark is also seen dated "39" .....

Ok!
Yes, I saw what is there for 38/39.
Have you come across this manufacturer?
I would like to compare the motto.
Regards,
Vitaly

Vern, thanks for your opinions. You think all SA and SS with same TM was made in 70s? You believe only in RZM with years?

Colleagues, perhaps someone has an SS dagger with such a stigma. Or good photos. I would like to establish the truth.
Interestingly, the RZM stamp on the SA and SS is completely identical. But the trademarks on SA and SS of RZM with the year, are similar but have differences and this is not only the contract number.

I believe the RZM M7/1 without the year is correct for SA daggers. But that mark on an SS dagger is suspect wink

Vern, I noticed one peculiarity. In your database, the TM of this manufacturer differs from the photo of the TM from the daggers that can be found on the Internet. And what is interesting, the photo of the stamps from the Internet is absolutely identical to the stamp on my dagger. It is possible that the year and the contract number were etched later, on the blade where there was a simple RZM mark. It is interesting to know your opinion. Thank.

I don't believe the RZM 1202 was added later. The etch depth is too uniform.

Vern, Dave thanks for your comments. Pay attention to the identity of the RZM logo on the photographs of daggers with and without a contract. I indicated the same places in the photo, and fundamental differences with photos from the database from the forum. Of course, some points are possible due to different shooting angles, photo quality and size. Therefore, I expressed the opinion that the contract number could was etched later. Probably, first of all, we need to decide what type of RZM logo we will take as an example. It hardly made sense for such a rare manufacturer to make two fundamentally different types of branding in such a short time. Again, it is quite logical that the contract number was added to the old sample of the RZM stamp. I will add information the thickness of the blade near the logo is 0.5 cm, at the beginning of the motto is 0.4 cm.

That Carl J Krebs is a nice looking dagger.
Have you seen one in hand? Have one?
I'd like to know more about one.

Ed,

No, that is from my photo file. I've handled one at a MAX show and one at an SOS.

You used the term suspect, does that mean there are fake CJK SS daggers, or are the marks just not all the same style?
I love the Carl J Krebs Army's, and have a few. I do not own a SS dagger. A good quality fake may be my only answer.
