I was offered this buckle up at a reasonable price so picked it up. I do not think it is real. Any opinions? It does have a nice aged look to it. But I cannot find anything that it relates to. Any help would appreciated. Thanks, kc

Looks like a Diplomatic buckle wreath with a replaced eagle, but it would not be RZM or SS marked. That style wreath was used on a couple of other buckles but not for the SS.

Thank you. So the buckle is probably real, just messed with? Did any legitimate buckles have the eagles put on with a screw and nut? Thanks again for your response.

SS and RZM stamps are definitely bad. The eagle should be stamped, not screwed on.
