I've got pictures. Not a expert on the vert hanger, but the loop looks good. I always wonder, and worry, about two toned leather on the same item. I do now a lot of the three piece SA sets have been assembled. Harder to do with a vertical hanger. Ed

From what I see of the materials and construction, it is a real period piece.
The different tones result result from which pieces are handled most or replaced. The upper strap gets the most wear from what I have seen on SS hangers and was probably replaced on some. Most photos will show SA/SS hangers with a relatively untouched lower loop and a well worn upper loop.
If SS hangers were not dyed black, I expect they would be two tones as well.

Hi ,
for me no doubt , it's a pre RZM period Assmann hanger , none in my collection but Weitze had a similar one few months ago .
