Greetings!

First post here, and I have a question; Does anyone know if any smaller versions of SS daggers exist?

I was at an antique show last month, and a dealer who frequently has a large variety of WW2 items had the dagger in the photographs, along with a larger SS and SA dagger.

The chained dagger was smaller than the other SS dagger, but apart from what looked to be a bit of rust along where the blade meets the hilt, in very good condition.

Someone from a site that sells Nazi era daggers said it wasn?t legit as no smaller daggers were known to exist, but it doesn?t look like a reproduction to me either.

Can anyone help me out identifying it and what the worth may be?

Unfortunately, the forum file size limit won?t allow me to post photos with greater detail; I would be happy to email them to anyone who might have an idea as to the origin of this dagger.

Several companies make miniature chained SS daggers that range in price from $39.99 to $299.95. Do an internet search on miniature chained SS daggers and you can see the sites. No originals were produced during the 3rd Reich period.

Welcome to GDC !

These daggers were introduced about 15-17 years ago. They are very well made miniatures that can be taken apart. There were SA/SS/NSKK and the chain SS you show.

Prices were about $135 for the SA etc and $155 or so for the chained SS. They soon appeared in "weathered" or "salty" or "antiqued" condition for any price you could imagine. Very nice miniatures, but not old.

There were a few SS miniatures made 1933-1945, but they are hard to find ans somewhat controversial. If you interested in period minatures, there are beautiful Army, Navy, Luftwaffe, etc daggers out there
