Hi any opinions on this? I had a US Army widow bring me this today. He was stationed in Germany in the 1950?s and she thought he bought it then. I?m not sure what the value is if it is original. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

You will need better pictures for confirmation and a value guess, but what I see says it is real.

Type 1 / Type C Chain assembly late period due to plate lifting and the use of the round chain connectors. Missing one scabbard screw.
Per Daves request ..please post the same photos more clearly.

it is period and authentic value estimate would be $3500 to $4200++ a decent starter for someone on a budget cheers and best, Ryan
