Hey Guys,

I've just bought a beautiful Klaas Army with 2nd type crossguard and was wondering if Klaas ever made use of the Generic scabbard? I know they used their own type but is it possible that they might have run short of stock? Is there anyone else that has maybe experienced this?
Thanks in advance,

Dion

Well one thing is for sure, all scabbardbands by Klaas bear the Astrix on them.

Don't recall ever seeing a generic scabbard on a Klaas Army.

I guess anything can happen in the years since the war, or during the war when parts ran out. Lots of generic parts on makers daggers.
Tom W has several Klaas Army daggers with different scabbards on his site now.
I don't know,

Thanks for the answers Gentlemen. I've also only ever had Klaas daggers with the Asterix, but I guess there are exceptions. The Klaas I have bought is really beautiful and like I mentioned, has the 2nd type crossguard which is not that common, but is equipped with the generic scabbard which I guess is bothering me a bit. Oh well, cant always have everything perfect.
Anyway, I wish everyone here a happy new year and happy hunting!!

Well Dion you also have to take the timeline in consideration.
An early type 2 Klaas guard married with a later non astrix marked scabbard would most likely be a replaced one.
When that happend? well that will Always be a guess.

If you love the dagger well who cares?

Enjoy it

Ger
