Lots of different letter pins around for German and other European countries. Could be "Zeppelin" or "Zeugamt", or a service pin for any company that starts with a "Z" wink

Yes, I have also made all kind of Z- words and tried to find out if it made sence somewhere. :)

A member of another forum gave a answer : Zeitlich-Freiwillige der Reichswehr : Temporary Volonteer of the Reichswehr ; a part of the Freikorps that assisted the Reichswehr near the Polish border .So a part The Black Reichswehr .

I hope that the answer brings us closer to the solution .and we can exclude the Zorros and chickens :)

Google; Zeitfreiwillige der Reichswehr Abzeichen .

The pin is very well made. Much higher quality than what we usually see.

The Reichswehr might be the right answer. It was also obviously (IMO) meant to be seen and recognized.

Dave, I agree ; the quality of the pin is very good and one could not have overlooked the big "Z" for recognition .

The thing was probably meant to be like a police badge. What is the diameter ?
