Not sure if this link will work . IF it doesn't ,,,copy and past on your search. It will bring you to a Silver forum I sometimes look in on. These are custom made pieces of cloth that will protect Silver from tarnish and corrosion..

https://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000134.html

On the link it shows it being used for Silverware .. For us we could have a cover that goes over our rings with our names on it , then cover can be put on.
These cloths are sold and have been used a long time for serious Silver collectors. This one just makes them custom with your name or emblem on them.. A little imagination will go a long way on them!

That?s really cool G, what a great idea to make one of the most portable collecting areas that much more attractive. As you once said, it?s the only area of militaria where you can carry your entire collection in your pockets! Imho besides the attractiveness and further portability of monogrammed cloth, in this era of smaller spaces, fewer home owners, more apartment dwellers and per-job and per-contract piecemeal professionals (who may have more than 20 jobs and 20 places to live in their lifetimes- ) if the iPhone is the new computer- the third Reich, USA ww2, etc ring collecting hobby should become that much more approachable in the future. Renters would be concerned about a landlord or maintenance person seeing their swords, helmets, and displayed flags for obvious theft and other insult/offend type reasons.,.. rings are out of sight and out of mind most of the time!

I was writing on the other topic about ring boxes/ cases.. Someone asked me about keeping tarnish down on their rings..

First make sure your case you keep them in is clean!. Make sure you give the rings a good wipe down before you put them in.. Also make sure the case closes nice and tight...

On this topic it shows about adding a 'silver cloth' on the top of your rings when you close it. There is a link to a good silver forum above.. These silver cloths can be gotten off eBay if your having trouble finding them..
IF you have a few rings that are getting black from tarnish you might want to try this. Again make sure everything clean 1st and case closes tight.. I would use the cloth , check often,,then after the first year I'd throw it away and put in a new one..

found the cloths on eBay.. They are for cleaning tarnished jewelry..

Some rings are so tarnished they will contaminate other pieces.. You can give them a clean with these 1st.. Wipe off very good.. IF tarnish problem persists you can take a cloth and just lay it over your rings when you close the case.. I'd check every week,,,and change the cloth after 6 months or so..

You can buy a large one shown here and cut for a custom fit,,,or ,,a pack of these 3"X3" and lay a few in your case.. The large is under $8.US and the small come in a pack of 100 and less than $11.US... IF your experiencing this tarnish problem you might want to consider this for your collection...,G.
