I got this a couple of years ago while I was working in Germany. I was out driving and stopped by an antique store and they had a few items of interest (steins, medals and this) which I bought.

This knot is made to wear as a fob on a watch or key chain. What is unique it is still in the original case.

Very cool! Thanks for showing. I've never seen one in the case.

Most intriguing item. Not being a student of the German language, I'm not certain what the case "says", but have doubts it was made to house the FOB. If it was, its one hellofa find, if not, its still a cool little case. Thanks for posting the pic and how you came upon it.

This case does not look like it is intended for this. I'd rather expect a writwatch in there.

Although its a watch fob and its a box from a watch and jewelry maker/seller these commonly are made for wristwatches as Herr Wolf already has stated. Not to say that it was not (periodly? I am not sure when looking at the fixing pin) used to house this fob as it did fit. But I also think it was not made only for this special purpose.
Interestingly it came from QUEDLINBURG.

I have two police bayonet knot minatures shown in the photo, one with green stripped acorn and one plain aluminum. I alway thought they were better explained as a salesman's sample. As a watch fob these minis are unaesthetic, unbendable and hardly suitable for wearing with a fine pocket watch.

This Juwelier box don't belong to the knot at all. The box is a typical original use post war item. But I think we know this all.
