Could use more and better pictures, especially of the tang and inside of the grip, and the ball of the scabbard. The lug looks like the type found on WMW NPEAs

Only Eickhorn have an eagle in the grip in my experience these are zinc, also the frog is way off the mark.
Thanks dippy

I have seen a lot of odd combos over the years with these. I suspect this could be a leader dagger in a WMW field/student scabbard. I agree the frog is not standard NPEA type, whether original or not is anyone's guess.

John,

A very nteresting supposition, I'm hoping you're right. The dagger looks OK to my eyes & I agree that one shouldn't discount a dagger simply based on an incorrect frog.

Actually, I have had several NPEAs over the years with non-standard frogs. What about you John, I think you have had one or two of these over the years;)?
Thanks!
Bob

For Sure Bob, many types of frogs are found on these. There is a classic Oxblood NPEA frog, but I think it was made out of a dress leather, and didn't hold up well, so the owner or vet replaced them with anything that fit.
