I have had this for a while. It is a leaflet issued to all soldiers in the Twelfth Army Group as they were about to invade Germany from Holland, Belgium, and Lichtenstein.

Sadly, about 1/2 of these comments apply to the schism between the two major political parties in the US today.

Fascinating leaflet really in its very essence but the ideas are profoundly philosophical as this is discussing moral rather than tactical high ground in our victory.

It was late 1944.
The Americans knew little about the internal workings of Germany, but had experienced the fanatical nature of the SS from Normandy (1st, 2nd, & 12th SS Panzer) to the Bulge, not to mention experiences in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy with the Herres, the Luftwaffe, and the submarine service of the Kriegsmarine. The concentration camps were yet to be discovered as were the significant other atrocities in the East and West of Europe.
Discuss the politics of the day in detail, but please leave modern politics for other Forums.
Thanks, Dave

Eric,
Right. The document looks like it was used for boot padding then washed out ... or worse. I will try a high rez scan and try to manipulate the image, but you are right about the 'pfc' .
The name is on the first line, serial # on the second, and rank on the third.

Tex,,your 1st post here is right on the money! And,,IF it was just us guys discussing modern politics everything would probably be fine.. Its when one of the irregulars or one of the lurkers, that will eventually chime in that the trouble starts..On other sites the post/topics like this just disappear.., anyway,,
Nice leaflet.. 3. C ,,,reminds me of my Uncles stories of when they liberated Dachau, and Buchenwald.. People lived within miles of both of these camps,,,but none would ever admit they knew anything about them.... Dave, hit a comic shop. They have different size Mylar envelopes and acid free boards to keep this stuff in. Not expensive, keeps the piece safe and won't degrade....
