This is a 2 side 8.5" x 10" piece of very thin paper that was air dropped in Northern France early on D-Day.

The front side says " The Allied Armies Have Landed"

The back says:

General Eisenhower Speaks to the Peoples of the Occupied Countries
... then many reassurances
... then "Together, we will Vanquish"

Signed by DDE with title of "Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Forces" in French

yeah thats a cool thing... Most D-Day stuff is.. Some were issued special knives ,equipment etc... My Uncle gave me a silk 11.5 in X 16.5 US flag. It could be and was folded up so small it would fit in a small match box!

Hope you own that Dave.. Needs to be kept right with that thin paper.. Acid free mat or back board.. Mylar sleeve,,or framed with UV glass .. Eric's right,,not many of these could have survived.. A nice piece of history...

- Here's that D-Day silk flag.. Even with matches in it the flag will fold up and fit in the match box!

Dave keep your flyer flat if you can. That thin paper will eventually separate / tear where the fold lines are..
