Neat piece I picked up at SOS this year. It's a partial ground SA Rohm. Note how the blade was polished in it's entirety, and only the name was removed. Makes for a cool discussion of the varying degrees of "grinding" that occured. Nice vertical hanger to boot.

Well, as rough as the curb was, they didn't get the maker mark.
Gets you thinking about all the ones that were "DONE AT THE FACTORY" and wasted half of the mark.

I think the guy came back from the gasthof after a beer or or eight and decided to comply with the order. Fired up the grinding wheel, said "F'ing 'Immler" and stuck his dagger against the wheel ... and ...

Interesting that the order was issued to grind off the Rohm signature, but no guidance beyond that

It could just be the pictures, but the the motto in the OP looks very poorly defined. Was the motto repainted black? It looks extremely dark to me.
