This WestWall ring is a rare pattern.. when they're rare that means most collectors haven't seen one so a good fake can slip by..

This one looks like it just got rinsed off! Details flat, shallow, edges, lines, corners , faults on face, etc. all look like a cast product.. I have this but can't get to it to show.. Anyone have one to compare?? There might be an example on the WestWall ring topic but I'm too lazy to look thru it all!

A tricky one...

This same seller was selling some other items. Most seem to be cast fakes.. They were pretty good. He was putting in the time to try and hide faults etc.
This WestWall bracelet at first looked like it might be good.. The back/rear looked suspect. But I enlarged the photo of the fronts and the faults on the front showed themselves.. Cast , not a very clear details. Casting dots, brand new looking! Be careful they getting better all the time...,G.

Hi Gaspare, I have one piece in my own collection. But sadly it is a ground find so the quality of details is not so good. It was hardly crushed and had to be heated and straighten. It was found in the surrendering area where German soldiers were throwing away their equipement including badges, buckles and also rings, etc.

Hi folks,
I am in a train in Scotland and had time to troll through the West Wall Rings thread. On p.16 there is a ring like this one. See link below:

no time for me,,flight leaving,,but an interesting topic..

The say the 'Devil is in the details' ! Never more true than with this ring.. Look at the ring that started the topic. Then look at the example Sniper posted.. I see many differences between the two.. They also say,,everyone has an opinion,,,so study the photos... Interesting topic as I mentioned!

sorry,,literally going to catch a plane ride.. I see lack of detail all over the place.. Casting dots upper right on ring on left,,and just plain bad detail where the bunker bottom seam meets the ground.. all under the word 'Westwall' poor cast.. Border around it poor... Sorry gotta go,,if its still of interest in a week when I get back I'll highlight problems in red etc..
Otherwise,,don't burn the place down,,happy hunting,,and no drinking and driving,,A happy , healthy holiday to you Sniper and the rest of the membership!!

I prefer either to hold both rings. Or have very good photos. There is neither one nor the other. So I would not make such hasty conclusions.
