I agree with Serge, the dedication is fake/incorrect, but is applied to a genuine Eickhorn dagger.

There is sufficient definition to tell this is not an Eickhorn pattern dedication, often very poor condition and rust is designed to obscure the details. Look carefully and compare...

i'm ok

thank you for your interventions
I think Xavier A?olfi who worked with Herman Historica knows what he's talking about
not to mention the dedication double registration is very rare

So, just for me not knowing these blades.
Is the maker mark location(low on the blade near the guard) a factor??
I think Dave has a point, would be hard to get a dedication under old wear and rust.
Just asking,

The maker mark location is correct. That is exactly where it is supposed to be.

To me, there is no doubt that this left the Eickhorn factory as a Rohm dagger. All the good indicators are there.

Whether the Rohm dedication was ground off, then re-applied we will never know for certain, but to do that then re-rust it ... and just how would that would be done ... challenges the imagination

Lastly that crossgguard with the strikeover is a gem - really cool.
