The forum uses "Unicode" for character display. I can see from your posts that you are using "Western" encoding. Your dagger shows typical Horster features, especially on the scabbard. It appears to be an original example. Unfortunately, several of the current reproductions have similar features, which causes many to hesitate in posting. That is a nice original set of Assmann hangers

Thank you Vern! I?m using an iPad to post...I guess iPads use ?western? encoding. And regarding the folks that are hesitant to post opinions on an opinion board...?He who hesitates is lost?

You probably do not want to reset the character encoding on your iPad but it does cause some problems. I'll see if we can detect it and switch the encoding here. Our ISP got hacked back in December and we were down for 2 months trying to recover our threads. We ended up moving to a new ISP and hiring a recovery expert to get everything back. We lost a lot of members because of that.
