Hi,
I got this in a trade, but I haven't got a clue what it is..
According to the guy I got it from, he got from the former east-europe.
The leather scabbard is in dark green leather, with no metal throat for the dagger.
The blade has a lovely etching, maker "Kller", Solingen, Germany. Maybe some export dagger?

Anybody know something about this?

Best regards,

Have no idea on the dagger but the Hugo Koller firm was in business until 1998.

The "Germany" mark would indicate an export dagger, probably after 1945.

Just thinking - Would "Germany" be used only after the unification of East & West Germany?
I have not looked for export patterns on other daggers from Solingen, would they say "West Germany" if from the 50's-80's ?

Knives and daggers made for export during the 1940's, 50's and 60's were marked "Solingen Germany". The "Germany" mark was also used after WW1, but that is a modern "Koller" mark.

Thanks again.
I guess it is possibly something made for an organization after the end of the USSR. The etching is definately not acid etched, probably laser etched.
The double headed eagle points towards Serbia, Montenegro, Albania or even Russia, but it's only speculation.
