Anyone hear or see one of these..

They were supposed to be a quick, inexpensive upgrade to the Bayo.. All a bit too late as the Viet Nam 'Conflict' ended before production started. But there were supposed to be prototypes made for testing etc. Real or bullshit??

I have seen many around the shows, and on the internet.
As far as I know there are the real ones, and there are repos already abound.
Lots at the last gun show in Louisville with the SOS.
Ebay has had a few and Gunbroker.

Since posting this,,, I've heard the fakes were like a real hard rubber... The authentic ones were exactly as the original handle material was.

So guess my question is now,,, Has the U.S. ever issued a bayo like this?
Or has anyone here get one issued during their service time after Viet Nam??

Do a quick internet search. Gunbroker has several on right now. I have seen quite a few, they were all cast, some with the slag still on yelling REPO.
Like I said, at the Louisville gun days show in February there was one table that had at least 30 handles for sale, and about 10 mounted on m-7s.
Some of the repos are marked inside the grip plate, some are not. I have been told the originals are all marked.
That is all I know.
Good luck

Much thanks for the info Ed!!

Oh yeah,, Were the ones you saw just like the drawing? I saw one that didn't have the separate fore finger hole,,,just a straight cut out.. So far what you've been seeing is like the drawing?

Yes, they were all like the ones you posted.
I have seen some with slag still on the cast, that had to be ground down and cleaned up. They were pritty cheap.
Most were ready to install, and about $30 to $40 each.
I have never seen the hard rubber type, all were aluminum.
There is a military guy at my local gun show in Springfield Mo that has one every show.
I myself have several M-7 bayonets, but have yet to get one for mine.
I'm sure if you keep on Ebay or Gunbroker you can find one reasonable.
