Happy 17th of May!

If you don't know, the 17th of May is to Norway what the 4th of July is to the US. Lots of parades and celebrations in the local national costumes. Good times!

yeah it was some years ago,,at a Fair for something,, for Norway, Denmark, etc. maybe even this May 17t holiday....

My buddy who was familiar with everything kept telling me I had to try the stuff,,,how unbelievable good it was etc etc. Well knew something was wrong when they served me,,,1st the site of it,,,not to appealing,,,then the smell [not good to say the least]. But they kept telling me how good it is and just take a big fork full,,,which I did sick cry crazy
anyway....

What are these other 2 items? a meal? meat, fish? or more of a desert?

Aquavit is caraway seed flavoured vodka...Scandinavia's signature liquor.

Lapskaus is a white or brown stew usually made with leftover pork or beef, potatoes, carrots and celery. I love it, everyone else in my family barely tolerates it.

Lutefisk is fish cured with lye and dried. It needs to be soaked a lot to remove the lye and the fish turns to mush. Definitely an acquired taste.
