This great SS dagger made by Jacobs was stolen from the mail last summer in Europe somewhere between Amsterdam and its final destination in Finland along with two other daggers and a sword. At least one of the daggers has made its way to the US. Please keep your eyes open for this one. If you spot it, let Tom Wittmann or myself know.

Shame the theft wasn't brought to the collecting community earlier, it might have saved some poor slob from losing his money because thats what is going to happen if this ever turns up.

Er ... no. I'll see if I can get some. This dagger is so good that the only real distinguishing marks are the light scratches on the grip.

I'll also post the other three items.

Good point, Gary,

Same with any stolen goods and even counterfeit currency.

If my info is correct, the potential theft was reported when the items did not reach their destination. The insurance company then did an in-depth investigation and paid TW. At that point, they were they the new owners of those items if they ever turned up. Why the insurance people did not post details ( and maybe offer a reward ) is unknown.

Yes, at least.

Try finding ANY Jacobs dagger, let alone one in that condition.

Actually, try finding any rare SS dagger. Just not around today.
