It is, I think, the Munich Reichsfuhrerschule for SA, NSKK and ( up to 1934) SS Leaders.
In the photo I see at least one NSKK Officer, but no SS so perhaps this is post 1934.
I do not have it any more, but I seem to remember the inside cover of Charles Hamilton's book ' Leaders and Personalities of the Third Reich,' Vol. 1 had a photo very similar to yours and perhaps another Forum member could check that.
As to the neck award that is a mystery. I can only think of the PLM, but the image is unclear.

Good point... if that was the case wouldn't there be daggers?

I thought about the 2 awards being the pour le merite.
It appears the two highest ranking officers in the photo have the award.

Another Sholtz Klink card posted 1 day after the 1937 rally with typical Nurnberg party day eagle ink stamp.

On the big group photo, I would guess late 20's / early 30's when the SA were organized enough to have uniforms, but not 100% standardized.

- As noted, no daggers

- Some guys are wearing puttees, not boots.

- Rank badges vary in size and color

- Uniforms vary in color and the ties are not all the same

- The Kepis do not seem to vary by rank. No sleeve ranks.

I have an album of over 100 pictures of a Sturm in 1934/5 and by that time they had daggers, and standardized uniforms.

Postmarked from Berlin 29/6/39 and ink stamped Tag der Deutschen Kunst.
Beautiful script correspondence.
Any ideas on what the monument's plaque says?
Thanks

This Lion commemorates the Battle of Isted (1850) in Schleswig-Holstein, in which the Danes were the victors.
From the text it looks as though this statue is at the gates of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler barracks in Berlin.
A very rare card!

I agree Gaspare.

Placing the cherry on top next door to the ehrentempel.

Take a close look at the scaffolding...made from timbers but got the job done without bureaucracy and the end product was far better than the styrofoam and plastic junk they put up now-a-days.

Well known Munchen glass/mosaic studio's stamp on reverse. Under it is script mentioning mosaic and professor Diebitsch.
Eagle and shields appear individually cut out then photographed (maybe for a art project).
No idea if ever started or if completed where displayed.

Nice looking bookplate with runes made up from many individual lines and a very cool looking skull.
Also thought it was unusual to see a raven with sword instead of a traditional eagle
Anyone know anything on Dr. Wolfgang Rabe?
Thanks

Thick stock postcard that has the look of a high quality portrait.
Seldom seen imo compared to Eicke's obergruppenfuhrer postcard photograph.

Trimmed upper and lower margins make the majority of the 1st descriptive line on reverse unreadable. 2nd line reads 'Berlin Lichterfelde'.
Posted from Berlin with correspondence dated july 2,1936.
Back of building??
Engraved plaque above center gate pillar or above door? On the right and left of it looks to be the intertwined lah.

Great details lost in the downsize for some reason.
Multiple combined lines make the black letters that goes un-noticed until magnified.
Dr. Hans Dornauer found to be a standartenfuhrer thanks to info on Axis History.
Mentioned as Police president Innsbruck also.

Andy,

That's not the Feldherrnhalle. That is one of two "Honor Temples" on the East side of the Konigsplatz,on the corner of Briennerstrasse and Arcisstrassein, in Munich.

When Hitler came to power he had the sixteen thugs who were killed at the Feldherrnhalle dug up and buried eight in each of the temples. After the war, the thugs were dug up again and reburied. The temples were destroyed. Today they are two creepy vacant lots completely overgrown.

Andy,

No, Horst Wessel was not killed at the Feldherrnhalle in 1923. He was a far-right activist who joined the SA, became a local leader in Berlin, and died a couple of weeks or so after being shot in the face in 1930. Goebbels was in need of a good propaganda idol and Wessel was chosen. His history was re-written to the point that it is difficult to separate the real from the invented.

Some versions of his death suggest that he was a pimp and got shot when a deal went wrong.

see you in York, Andy

Dave

Rohms last nov.9 ceremony.
Wonder if the wheels were already turning in Hitler's mind for a Rohm demise option.
