Vassago, although the photographs are much to few and much to few detailed to put somebody commonly in the position to do a statement let me say so: This one has a lot of features I personally would not like to see on an original FHH dagger. Beside the true, original FHH honor daggers ALL original (other) FHH daggers known will fall in two variants. This one, already from the fotographs and from the material description(!) in the "certificate", does not fit in one of the two variant categories of originals. Because of threatenings of lawsuit I will not comment the "certificate" (is the issuer of it identical with the seller?). BTW even the "certificate" says that, because of the said provenience of the dagger (it alledgedly came from a former empoyee of the EICHKHORN firm) it is highly to assume that the dagger consists of surplus original parts AND NEW PARTS FOR COMPLETITION and has been built together post war. I personally would not touch this dagger with fire tongs. Regards,

Many thanks Wotan and Seany for your comments, what does the certificate say are supposed to be original dagger pieces assembled after the war? What curious.

what does the certificate say are supposed to be original dagger pieces assembled after the war? Yes and even more that it is highly assumed that new parts have been made to complete it. Due to the form I can see in the pics and due to description (material) of the parts I cannot see ANY part which could be period. Even the blade (there are original surplus blades known!) does not look like one of the surplus blades to me. Regards, PS: BTW, this is how a period FHH does look

I know of a collector who has all the parts except the top fitting he assembled in the 1950s and 1960s from veterans who say they picked them up in Solingen just after the war. Also, I saw a few original blades in 1950s stag gripped clamshell crossguard pieces sold in army surplus stores

Bone that the certificate says are original pieces made by "Eickhorn" in Solingen assembled after the war ...
In what situations or to what members of the SA were delivered this type of daggers? since I only know the standard model that is usually given to all members of the SA, Why this model?

The SAStandarte "Feldherrnhalle" has beeen an elite unit. The "usual" FHH-dagger (which has been a "duty dagger" NOT an honor dagger!) has to been worn by ALL leaders of the SAStandarte-FHH and the leaders of the Stab-OSAF. Therefore Lutze NEVER has worn a "usual" FHH dagger(the Standarte did bestow him a honor dagger) and he COULD NOT bestow FHH daggers and all with his signature are sure fakes. Regards,
