Skull should be hollow and soldered on on this pattern.

Subject: Re: German eBay ring....

Well known and rather rare pattern with this "high" skull.
The skull on originals is a separate piece and soldered on as on Ados ring.
One piece variants with a "flat" skull are more common.
If i remember right i have a period advert for this "high" skull ring. wink

Most likely this one is cast and not hollow at all. Look on pic in the middle.

There are less original rings than you think, much less...

And you are wrong as well!
I have posted this same ring before in this thread...

http://phpstack-500133-1583587.cloudwaysapps.com/ubbthread...6971#Post326971

And it was fine! Now all of a sudden it is not good on this thread!
it is not nice to attack perfectly good ring and ambush the thread like this.
There are absolutely no cast marks on this ring!

Is there something wrong with people giving their opinions? Or is that only OK if they're positive...
I thought that's what this forum was about, asking questions and determining the truth.
And btw that was an expert opinion, given above... I'd appreciate it, even if I would happen to not agree.

Yes as far as weight goes it should be appropriate for one having a hollow skull, soldered to the front. Odal is correct in this estimation.

Hey!
What happens here?
Where is the Problem?

Building an opinion only on pics is always very difficult.
In the case of this high skull i would say good or bad one depends in
is the skull a second hollow soldered on piece or not.

Stay friendly guys.

Sorry but when Hapur follows and says that he sees cast marks
which dont exist anywhere on this ring just upset me
because i have paid lot of money for this ring and i know where it is coming from for someone to rush the judgment in this case.

I post my rings on here for the future to be seen and recorded so in future when i decide to sell them i want the potential buyers to be able to see this thread and feel comfortable that the rings he is buying is original and he is safe with purchases.
Now with reading this thread any potential buyer will not be comfortable in buying this ring, which is ridiculous because this ring is 100% original!

I will finish here with this thread and if there was some misunderstandings, i am sorry.

Thank you
Ado

Strange reaction on opinion. I thought we are here to learn something and discuss.

Ok, first skull should be hollow and as such ring shouldn't be heavy.

Second, based on pics you provided I do see casting pore between bones at right side. That part does not match other rings on your pic. And that can not be from wear. Compare that part with other rings pic of that design you provided, lines are thicker. Also dot on forehead also looks like pore.

However clear good large size pics inside and outside, hallmarks etc would help to clear this.

Fact that ring has been bought from dealer does not prove anything.

Ado, no offence here. If you not happy with my comments about your ring, I won't anymore.

first, wow you call the small black discoloration on top of the forehead as a cast mark!?
second, compare the two same skull rings and the same flower in question where you have found the second so called "cast" mark!

my problem is that you have attacked the perfectly good ring, my thread before this one i have posted with wornout suspicion skull ring so i dont know maybe after that any Ado's ring that he post will be no good. My friend i have some very rare rings in my collection.
and i don't claim that i know everything but this ring is 100% original.

If you post your rings in public you have to live with others opinions.
Thats life wink
Wether you like the opinion or not.

Opinions about an item can be different.
So it`s your turn to build your own one about and decide yourself.

I think it is better to stop this thread now because there will come no other result.
