Well I'm not a sword guy, but I can read modern Greek. It says stratiotikon kentron Christou (somthing) en athenai.
Roughly translated a stratikion is a tax free military fund raised for times of war- like a defense budget or a war fund.it began in the city state of Athens a long time ago. Kentron is central. So
My guess is that this was paid for (maybe a tax abatement stamp?) by the central war fund maybe on christoudolous street? In Athens.

Maybe it's the season acting on my brain but the middle word looks a lot like the Greek word for Christmas! Christougenna or christougenniatikos- it's really hard to see the letters... I didn't want to mention it before because it sounds crazy! Maybe it was a Christmas gift...
Ok sorry for bumping into ur forum guys... just thought I'd add my 2¢ for what it's worth. Good luck and enjoy your sword!
