I've actually seen a few of these (surprising how expensive they are!) and I cannot imagine that this is an authentic piece- I would safely guess this is a fake.

Definitely a reproduction. I've seen a few advertised as original, most listed as produced by Assmann. I have a couple of the Assmann catalogs and it is not listed there.
