While we mentioned how rare unit marked WW1 rings are.. Well of course every authentic pattern ring has been reproduced!

SO, here we have a period advert for what appears to be WW1 unit marked rings.. You could get the shoulder strap on the cartouche in the color of your unit,,and your unit number on it..

and while not exactly as these pattern bands this ring is currently being offered..
Looks like you could probably get whatever color on the board and the number put in there..

this is the inner band. Nice and deep content. Not sure if the maker mark is a good one or a fantasy.

so many think WW1 rings are safe to collect,,,they are not. Not even custom ordered unit rings!

AND, even rings like this ,,seems harmless, common/plentiful and inexpensive. But be careful this is as fake as they come..

Great and necessary topic, G. I've been looking through a great many WW1 rings, and it is just as much a minefield as WW2 rings. Fakes seem very abundant, and not always obvious. The enamelled black, white and red with Iron Cross motif is rife with fakes it seems.

hi members
great topic these ww1 german unit rings yes there are pleanty of fakes they are made as we speak this is my opinion on how to slow these fakers down they watch every forum and how we tell them what we find wrong with some of the newer fakes i can point out at least three faults on thier fake rings but my opinion on what is wrong with thier fake rings are not up for discussion because then they will take our opinions and make them better my motto was used in ww2 with the united states navy loose lips sink ships same goes here why teach crooks on how to screw our newbie collectors if you have to do it please do it in private e mails my personal opinion we will be a lot better off thanks have a nice day andy militarynut

There are less original rings than you think, much less...
