The chain should be nickel plated as the body of the gorget. Gorget rim should not be sharp.
I can't tell these features on your photos. Also The black backing material should not be fuzzy.

Chuck, Thanks but I'm a bit confused. Are there 2 gorgets? The rear "button tongue" looks different. -serge-

This is obviously two different gorgets. I'm also somewhat confused.

Sorry but for me the 2nd set of photos are worse. Where you have Pat and I convinced it's 2 gorgets...you got to either get someone to take better clearer photos in natural light where details can be made out, or another camera with a macro setting. Snap close ups of the Lip around the chain end, the button tang, gorget lip, full close up of figure. Describe what kind of cloth it is. We see only black. How is it attached, if you can see? Is the chain nickel plated? Is the Gorget body Nickel plated? All these naratives with clear detailed photos will help with a proper determination. Snap a lot of photos and pick out the best you can find and then post. Remember we haven't seen it. Unless better photos are forthcoming I can't help you further perhaps others may.

Originality, condition and rarity are three of the major factors that determine the value. From your pictures, I can not make out the details well enough. The NSFK is one of the more rare gorgets. The condition of your gorget is around very good. This gorget has been reproduced and one must be extremely carreful if purchasing one.

Hello Chuck, Can you tell us if you sold it as original or a reproduction? Just curious. Thanks.

I sold it as original to a long time collector friend who I believe pretty much knows what is real or repro. He came down and seen it and made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. I may have sold it too cheap or for more than what it was worth, but, I made a profit and that's what counts. Thanks for your interest! CHUCK

Well if a LW Standard Bearer's Gorget is in the 5k range, an NSFK gorget is of course much scarcer but perhaps not as sought after you figure you are looking at 7k for a good one give or take....
