Awesome Russian volunteer wonder why the swas is rubbed off- maybe a capture from a partisan I know they did that to German buckles. Or a commie capture piece.

one can only guess Mike.. Remember, these guys weren't Nazis!
Mike, your a history guy. You want to read some interesting stuff. Search these POA guys out! and General Vlasov.

Near the end most took off their breast eagles [don't think this jacket had one]. I had some vets tell me they were issued a jacket and a handful of insignia and told it better be on by mornings roll call! Others were issued uniforms all ready to go.

I own 3 POAs and a YBB [Ukrainian]. Most are Dutch reissues. 1 I got directly from a vet in 1998. Another I got from direct family members. VERY lucky these were up in an attic for both floods!!

Hoping someone will come on and be able to tell me something about the jacket itself as this is not one of the Dutch reissues.

I'll look it up- I know they weren't nazis but were sometimes just fighting the commies on their own turf !

Read up on Vlasov the Russian liberation army- interesting group! As a korps level org I can't imagine there were more than 100-200k of them esp since they weren't formed until the late 44 makes sense the uniform is in good shape i think it's gorgeous G hope the numbers inside say so too thank god they were in the attic

I agree G, there used to be a few really knowledgeable cloth, tunic and uniform members on this site. I have two Generalmajor uniforms and all I could find out about each was by my own research and taking them to the SOS show a few years back.

The collar alone would lead me to believe this was once RAD property...or at the very least made for the RAD if not accepted by them...the RAD tunics were a perfect fit for the job as they were one of the only tunics that conformed to military tailoring specs.

The markings are unlike anything I have on my RAD tunics to be certain...
