I know most feel mineral or other oils are a big no-no on helmets, but how about daggers and swords? I've always used Renwax, but have read that the choji oil the Japanese sword guys swear by is basically mineral oil with a few additives. I know mineral oil is recommended on kitchen and working knives by many, but anyone use it one their TR blades? I really can't think of a reason not to use Renwax, but was just curious on others thoughts.

I've always used silicon spray on my blades. Spray it on, give it a few minutes, and wipe it down. Any good oil would probably work OK

I used gun oil for years on various blades and antique firearms with zero problems before learning on the net about Renwax being the "preferred method" I'm just always curious what others may be using or prefer. Much like the many night I've spent reading on the various firearm oils, ATF, motor oil, and boutique oils as far rust prevention, lubrication value, and so on.
