I would appreciate learned opinions on this helmet, which I have owned for quite a few years. I don't doubt the authenticity of the shell, its paint or liner. I really don't doubt the decals, either, but the rules dictating what is real and what is not have shifted significantly over the years. I have thoroughly compared the decals with those in references, including those in Hicks' books. I can see no difference, but I could be missing something. I would add the runes decal is highly metallic and "sparkly," which the photo does not capture. Thanks for any help.

My issue with these decals is that it seems that the runes and swastika have sawtooth edges which indicates that they're not good. Again this is what I can see on these pics and that's why I'm asking for good close up pictures.

Other opinions would be more than welcome!

Hello, Panzerfaust, and thanks for the reply. I am attaching closeup photos of the decals. I have also looked at them with a magnifying glass and do not detect the sawtooth edges you describe. What you might be seeing is the widely scattered "speckling" throughout both decals, which appears to be corrosion from underneath the decals, and some of which is along the runes and swastika edges. But, then, I don't know exactly what to look for. Thanks, again!
