I have been offered a SS Officer Dachau sword it is text book in every way except it has a nickel D guard is this right? All parts are as the SS Dagger book by Tom Wittmann except the D guard. The opinions of you sword experts would be most appreciated Many thanks for any help.

Most people will ask that you post several pictures of the sword in question

Hi, I do not have the sword as I was only given it to check it out. When I had a close look at the sword and ran a magnet over all the parts where stainless except the D guard which was nickel apart from that I could not fault it as per book, that is why the question any opinion? Thanks for the reply the only one so far.

Without photos I doubt if you will get any other responses. You are asking people to give you an opinion based on a short description. I believe that is impossible to do.
