Most collectors know the auctions on EBay of the advanced non German collection coming out of Chicago. I thought it would be nice to see the daggers and who got what.

I have been lucky on three so far. I have bid on a lot more but people know what these daggers are and are paying for them.

My first one is a one of three prototype Croatian Honor daggers bearing the seal of the Chief of Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces. Many people see an anchor and think they are Navy. But, there is an anchor, crossed swords under a shield, and stylized wings.

This first one is the gold model.

The pamphlet is from the military trade show where they were presented.

I also got the silver model. There were three. A gold, above, a bronze, and the silver which I show here. Of note, I once owned the bronze but it is now in Russia.

This auction has been a collectors dream. Most of the daggers were from Kurt Glemser and the prices have been about 50 to 60%.

Many of these daggers are extremely rare.

Congratulations on your purchases, Alex.

Thanks Jim, I agree that this auction has been a collectors dream, but my bank account may disagree with me.
If its ok to ask, how come Mr. Glemser end up selling his daggers?

These daggers being auctioned out of Chicago are not Kurt's. He sold them to the collector who died. Kurt has bought and sold daggers for years. He would buy them, research them, publish them, and sell them as he saw fit. Basically the same as every advanced collector. Except Kurt is a brilliant researcher.

Myself and others have been buying daggers directly from Kurt for over 30 years.

Of interest to you is the fact that Kurt originally sold these daggers for a lot more than you and I are paying.
