Nice original ring from Karelia. I know the seller. Shank looks like that someone tried to split it with nippers. May be it was soviets...who knows smile

My initial impression as well, and the cut just didn't look right, like they were trying to authenticate it.....great eye hapur

Too much going on for one ring! Runes, swastikas, oak leaves, norge ship.. Just needs a skull and serpents and engraved 'mller' to finish it off.

Stay clear.

I have seen this ring some times ago on an other site.
I think was exact this ring.
I not to 100 % sure, but this would be no ring for my collection.

This is no scratch, this typical is investment inclusion or dirty metal. After acid bath past casting dirt was removed and left cavity like this.

Typical casting balls / air bubbles at typical places left after incomplete investment vacuuming. This ring has no chances at all.

Many bring backs were snipped of dead ring owners as souvenirs or trade and "I got this of an SS officer" stories.

This one has definitely been given that 'failed attempt' to make it more deceiving.

I second that! It's awesome to have someone on board that knows this much about the 'lost art' of making die struck rings, AND detecting those that aren't!!
Also would like to add that if you wanna find a craftsman who takes his art as serious as Hapur, well, good luck with that! :-)
He puts an unbelievable effort in making sure his work is perfect and his clients super-happy.
Kudos to you, Sir! :-)
Mark
