Yes it looks like a South American AF dagger, but South American daggers has coat of arms on the pommel, etching on the blade, etc. But this one is absolutely neutral, do not shows any connection to any counrty, what is strange.
I had an Uruguayan AF by Eickhorn, it was identical to this one, but had the "Sun" symbol of Uruguay on the pommel.

Hi gents,

On Columbian air force dagger the blade should be etched with: «FUERZAAEREACOLOMBIANA», but this one is not.
Also, known Columbian daggers are made by E. & F. Horster, and this one is Eickhorn.

Strange dagger indeed ...

I thought is was Uruguayan, but it lacks the pommel detail as Janos points out. It could be a post WWII issue. I am pretty sure Janos's was pre WWII.

But, that is just speculation.

Actually this is on EBay and there is no etch on either side. Plus the tm is not what I am use to on export daggers.

Hi Jim,
Yes, it’s on EBay and TM looks suspicious.

Yes its on eBay and the guy seems to have allot of European edge weapons. I do not collect these but found the piece intriguing due to the resemblance to the German 2nd model luft.

A collection out of Chicago is being auctioned on ebay. So far a few rare items but also the standard boxed daggers.

The same vendor, Crescent Jewelers, is also selling the 1950/60s fantasy daggers. Three of the Victor Emanuel daggers and one of the so called fascist Italian Air Force daggers. Some of the other offerings are a combination of original and new parts. So caution is really called for.

At the same time, the collection has some worth bidding on. I know, because I have lost on about 20 daggers so far.

I would pass on this one.
