Gentlemen,

usually I'm not crazy about Hoeller navies, but this one catched my eye. I appreciate originally tied Portepees on daggers, so nicely worn. Especially when they also have nice blades.

So I bought this one out of the woodwork.

Best;

That is a real beauty Hermann!! I personally think the Hollers with their springy wire and squared off scabbard bands are one of the nicest Navies out there! The hammered scabbard is an excellent bonus too!! Well done! Kevin.

It's ALL in the DETAILS!!.......

A rare treatment on this nice dagger are the hammered eyelets. Seldom to be seen, most HÖLLER have the common "three row" navy eyelets.

Hermann,

I agree with you regarding Hollers in general but this is such a nice example with its beautiful blade & hammered scabbard. It is easy to understand why you acquired it, well conditioned but with just the right amount of honest period wear to make is quite desirable.

Billy, thanks for jumping in. Yes, these were my thoughts, exactly.
@Landser, what can I say, it's not a minty, but I love the blade and the has been there patina. And, of course, I know exactly you are having the same feelings. ;-)
So, Gentlemen, thanks for your thumb up!
Kindest regards;
Hermann
