Got these two from a small auction, I was told these were from a veteran's estate. The Navy is a depot marked piece by Adolf Braun and the Army is an Alcoso, there is a small chip on the grip of the Navy and a little greying around the makers mark, the army is in super condition, both swords are showing some great gilt finish on the fittings. Both blades are in super condition. The leather scabbard is also in great condition just showing a little wear but nothing to bad.

Can somebody give me a retail price on these two as I'm not up on swords at all.

Thanks

Gary

Now the Alcoso Army, The blade is bright with very little wear and the undented scabbard has at least 98% of the original paint, the fittings are full of the original gilt.

Cheers

Gary

Nice issue 'Nordsse' Naval sabre, and the Heer sword is shown in Angolia's book, p. 67.
Super condition and I would guess reasonable prices would be in the region of £600/700 and £350 respectively.

Kriegsmarine TR issue marked sabres are scarce and desireable, imho. If not for the minor grip damage I would estimate £850/£950, still very collectable though as is.

Gary, As the others have said a very good acquisition - IMO especially the marked Navy swords like this one are very desirable and relatively hard to find. Nicely Done! smile Best Regards, Fred
