My dear friend, fellow collector and mentor, lost his long battle against cancer yesterday. Bernie was my mentor, he's the person that got me into the hobby 15 years ago. He's also the person that brought me to my first Max show in 2004.
He will be sadly missed.

My last picture of Bernie with Pauline and with my wife, Lyne.

God bless.

It's tough to hear a good man like this was struck down by Cancer. Sorry for your loss Patrice.

Patrice my thoughts are with you and Lyne in the loss of your friend. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy are extended to Pauline, his family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie and talking with him more than once regarding SS daggers and research. Bernie was a true gentleman, a stalwart chap and in the top 5% of this hobby. He will be sorely missed for both his knowledge, friendship and contributions. My he rest in peace. In sympathy Ryan S

I had the pleasure of seeing Bernie one last time this winter. He was interested in an engraved bayonet I had. I found him in good spirits. At dinner I was surprised how good his appetite was. He even had a glass of wine. He was about to start new treatments. I thought he would make it trough and was surprised and saddened when I heard of his passing.

Terrible news. I thought he had this beat.

He was the go-to-guy for named or numbered ss items when I met him back in the early 90's.

A respected member of the collecting community who will be missed.

I had little contact with him over the years, but it was always a pleasure. Sorry to hear he has left us.
